Introduction
Bundle Products are created by aggregating multiple Products with a commercial purpose.
Typically, the goal of creating a Bundle Product is to provide customers with greater value or convenience compared to purchasing individual items separately.
You can think of a Bundle Product as a virtual product made up of combinations of physically existing products in the Warehouse.
In this article, you will learn how MarketRock handles Bundle Products in the following order:
Creating a Bundle Product
To create a Bundle Product, you must create a new Product and configure it by clicking on the Components tab > Enable Bundle.
Once the Bundle Product is enabled, you can add components, i.e., the Products that make up the kit itself.
Components can be searched by SKU or product name.
Once found, they can be added as components to the Bundle Product by specifying the quantity of pieces included in the Bundle Product.
Click Save to complete the creation of the Product.
Updating Quantities
The logic behind managing Warehouse quantities is particularly efficient because receiving an order for a Bundle Product results in the movement of all component Products in the Warehouse.
When an order for a Bundle Product is received, the quantities of the individual component Products, which make up the Bundle Product, will be deducted.
If you create a Bundle Product made up of multiple units of a Product, the availability of the Bundle Product will adjust accordingly.
For example, consider a Bundle Product named "Video Game" composed of:
- 1 unit of the product "Console"
- 2 units of the product "Controller"
Suppose you have 5 "Consoles" and 5 "Controllers" in stock.
As a result, the "Video Game" Bundle Product will have a stock of 2 units in the Warehouse.
This is because 4 "Controllers" are used to create 2 kits from the total of 5.
Now, imagine the following sales scenarios:
-
Sale of a Component Product
If the "Controller" is sold separately, generating 2 sales, the quantity of the "Video Game" product will drop to 1. This is because with 3 "Controllers," you can only create 1 "Video Game" Bundle Product. -
Sale of a Bundle Product
If 1 unit of the "Video Game" Bundle Product is sold, the Warehouse stock of "Console" (decreases to 4) and "Controller" (decreases to 3) will be adjusted. The Bundle Product will also be reduced to 1 unit (with 3 remaining "Controllers," you can only create 1 "Video Game" Bundle).
Conversely, adding stock to individual products will adjust the Bundle Product’s availability accordingly, based on the pieces that make up the Bundle Product.
To simplify tracking Warehouse movements, you can click the Movements button in the "Availability" tab of the Product.

Bundle Products and Variants
Like a Parent Product, the Bundle Product is essentially a container for other products.
For this reason, it is not possible to:
- Create a Bundle Product starting from a Parent Product (a Product with variants).
- Create variants of a Bundle Product.
However, a Bundle Product can include a variant of a Parent Product as one of its components.
For example, imagine the item "Cotton T-shirt" with the Parent Product code SKU 001 and variants in blue (SKU 001_blue), red (SKU 001_red), and yellow (SKU 001_yellow).
You can create a Bundle Product "T-shirt with Hat," by creating a new Bundle Product with components including the product "Hat" and a variant of the "Cotton T-shirt" item (e.g., SKU 001_blue).
