GPSR Configuration on MarketRock

Available for all licenses

Introduction
In this article, I will guide you through the GPSR configuration to optimize the management of Manufacturers and product safety information. This process includes updating product sheets with the new GPSR features, managing Manufacturers and Responsible Persons, as well as ensuring product compliance with international safety regulations. The GPSR configuration is already integrated for sending data to marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, and Veepee:

Manufacturer Center Configuration on MarketRock

To begin the GPSR configuration, access the Manufacturer Center section from the "Settings" menu. From here, you can manage the data related to Manufacturers and Responsible Persons for each Manufacturer, ensuring compliance with European safety and responsibility regulations.

Creating a Manufacturer
To create a new Manufacturer:

  • Click on "Add Manufacturer" and enter the manufacturer's company name in the "Company Name" field (mandatory field).
  • Complete all the additional information requested. Although only some fields are mandatory, it is advisable to fill out as many fields as possible to facilitate data management and ensure the system properly recognizes the connections.
  • After saving the Manufacturer, two new sections will be activated:
    • Brands
    • Responsible Persons

Brand Section
In this section, you can associate a specific brand with the Manufacturer. If a product on the marketplace is associated with a brand linked to a Manufacturer in MarketRock, the system will automatically connect the product to the appropriate Manufacturer.

⚠️ Note: Two different Manufacturers cannot be associated with the same Brand.

Responsible Persons Section
In the "Responsible Persons" section, you can add an EU contact person for Manufacturers that do not have a location in the EU. To add a new Responsible Person:

  • Click the "Add" button and fill in the contact person's details, including official contacts to which the consumer can reach out regarding safety matters.
  • Save the information to complete the association of the Responsible Person with the Manufacturer.

💡 Tip: Keep this section updated to ensure full compliance with GPSR safety requirements on marketplaces like Amazon, where contact details must always be visible.

Importing Manufacturers via File
To simplify Manufacturer management, MarketRock supports importing Manufacturers via file, using a mechanism similar to the simple product import.

To import Manufacturers:

  • Access the Manufacturer Center and click the "Import" button.
  • You can import Manufacturers, including associated Brands and Responsible Persons.

Required fields for import:

  • Company Name (mandatory): Used to distinguish one Manufacturer from another.
  • To associate a Responsible Person, you must:
    • Enter the company name in "Company Name."
    • Map the "Person Type" field as "ResponsiblePerson."
    • Map the "Parent Company Name" field, indicating the Manufacturer to which this Responsible Person is associated.

Product Sheet Modifications
In addition to the Manufacturer Center, MarketRock allows you to specify safety documents, images, and detailed information on product hazards to comply with the product safety regulation (GPSR).

Tab "Attachments"
The "Attachments" section allows you to add safety documents for each product, such as instruction manuals, safety data sheets, or certificates. Attachments can be PDF, DOC, or DOCX files.

To add an attachment:

  • Choose the document type (e.g., "Instruction Manual").
  • Select one or more languages to make the attachment available in target markets.
  • Click the "Add" button to save the attachment, which will be displayed in the table below.

⚠️ Note: After adding, you can only add or remove languages. If the file or attachment type is wrong, delete the attachment and upload a new file.

Tab "Safety"
The "Safety" tab collects compliance and hazard information for products, previously spread across other sections. Inside, you will find four sub-tabs:

  • Images: Allows you to upload safety images if required by GPSR or the target marketplace.
  • Batteries: Specifies whether the product requires or includes batteries. If so, you can indicate:
    • Whether the product includes batteries (with or without lithium).
    • The weight, composition, and number of cells of the batteries, along with Watt-hour values for lithium batteries.
  • Regulations: Allows you to specify international safety markings such as the CE mark and insert GHS pictograms (Globally Harmonized System for chemical classification and labeling). You can also specify the UN number for hazardous goods.
  • Warnings: Allows you to insert standard or custom safety warnings, specifying the target language for each warning.

Note: GHS information can be sent automatically to Amazon and eBay to ensure compliance with GPSR requirements and is now also supported for sending to Veepee.

New Importable Fields in Simple Product Import
New fields have been added for importing safety information.

Importing Attachments and Safety Information:

  • To import an attachment, use the "Attachment" field, specifying the type and (optionally) the associated culture.
  • If an attachment has multiple cultures, use the "Cultures" field, entering a comma-separated list (e.g., "it,fr,de" to associate Italian, French, and German).
  • This comma-separated approach also applies to the following fields:
    • Classification/GHS Pictograms: Allowed values: CompressedGas, Corrosive, EnvironmentallyDamaging, Explosive, Flammable, HealthHazard, Irritant, Oxidizing, Toxic.
    • Markings: Allowed values: CE, FCC, UKCA, EAC.
    • Hazardous Goods Type/Applied Regulations: Allowed values: Storage, Waste, Transportation, GHS, Other.
    • Standard Warnings: Allowed values: Standard warning codes (e.g., H200).

New Exportable Fields from the Report Center
MarketRock now supports exporting additional fields for more detailed product information management.

New Fields Available for Export:

  • Country of origin
  • Warehouse location
  • HS Code
  • Creation date
  • Last modification date
  • Packaging preparation days
  • Manufacturers
  • Identifiers

Advanced GPSR Configuration
MarketRock offers advanced configurations for sellers on multiple international markets, allowing you to manage multilingual attachments, global safety regulations, and hazard warnings specific to each product.

Multilingual and International Attachments
Each attachment can be associated with one or more languages, making it easier to publish safety documents for each market. If a product is targeted at international customers, you only need to upload a version of the document for each supported language.

Safety Regulations and Custom Warnings
Advanced safety regulation management is essential for products distributed globally. Add all safety regulations, international markings, and warnings for each target market, ensuring GPSR compliance. Warnings can be of two types:

  • Standard Warnings: Determined by international regulations (e.g., H400).
  • Custom Warnings: Created by you, with selectable text and language.

⚠️ Note: Safety information, including warnings and markings, can only be configured for parent products and are automatically inherited by variants.

Preliminary Operations for Sending GPSR Information to Marketplaces

Amazon
Since Amazon does not allow full automation, some operations are manual. Proceed as follows:

  • Log into Seller Central, go to Performance > "Account Status."
  • Under "Policy Compliance," select "Regulatory Compliance" to view any GPSR violations.
  • If necessary, add contact information for Manufacturers and Responsible Persons via the "Submit" button.
