The most common questions about Synchronization Management among users
A product in the file is not being created on MarketRock
- Check if you have reached the maximum product limit for your license.
- Ensure the synchronization did not encounter an error (check the report sent via email or in the activity log on MarketRock).
- Verify that the product is included in the file and has all the required information. If any mandatory information is missing, the product will not be imported.
- Ensure the product does not have a duplicate SKU.
Once synchronization is running, how can I add/exclude certain categories?
ADDING:
- Access the Products > Synchronization Management menu.
- Select the price list where you want to manage the categories and click the Edit subscription button.
- Click Subscribe to a new category and specify, from the category tree on the right, which category you want to subscribe to, setting markups and price options for that category.
- During the next .csv file import schedule, the new category will be imported into MarketRock with the specified settings.
EXCLUDING:
- Access the Products > Synchronization Management menu.
- Select the price list where you want to manage the categories and click the Edit subscription button.
- Select the category you want to exclude, click the Remove a subscription to a category button.
- During the next .csv file import schedule, the changes will take effect.
I use Dropbox to host the file: Where can I find the link?
- Create a folder in Dropbox named "MarketRock."
- Place the file in the folder.
- Click Share.
- Click Create a link.
- Click Copy link and save the link.
Do not delete the file but replace it as needed. The new file must have the same name as the old one to follow this procedure.
How do I identify errors in the file?
- Open the .csv file with Excel.
- Go to the Data tab.
- Click on From Text.
- In the import wizard, select the file.
- Choose Delimited as the file type and click Next.
- Under Other, input the "|" character as the separator and click Finish.
This method formats the file correctly into a grid, allowing you to immediately spot inconsistencies.
Occasionally, network errors may prevent the file from being processed.
How do I replace a photo in the .csv file?
To replace an old image with a new one, make the new image available at the same URL as the old one.
For example, if the path is www.mySite/images/photo1.jpg
:
- Remove the old image.
- Replace it with the new one, using the same file name as the old image.
How to perform a full synchronization from the file
If some products or categories are missing after synchronization, this may happen because MarketRock updates only the modified products compared to the previous file.
To ensure all products and changes are imported, perform a full synchronization as follows:
- Go to Products > Synchronization Management > Check the file > Edit > Check the subscribed categories > Edit and Save.
This procedure must be applied to each category individually.
Can I change markups after importing products?
Yes, you can. To modify the catalog-wide VAT percentage, adjust the Markup field in your .csv file. Setting a markup (e.g., 22%) will calculate the final product price inclusive of VAT.
The image imported from the .csv file is incorrect
If the imported image is incorrect, upload the correct image to the link specified in the .csv file, without changing the file path.
My .csv file is not updating on MarketRock
Verify the following:
- Ensure no errors exist in the file, as a single error will block the .csv file import. Warnings, however, will not block the process.
- Check the correctness of EAN 13 codes.
- Confirm the file has all required header fields.
- Ensure each row contains all necessary fields.
- Avoid unsupported characters in product titles.
- Ensure categories are subscribed during configuration.
- Avoid duplicate products in the .csv file.
- Check if the file's descriptions are correctly formatted.
- Verify the file link remains unchanged if hosted on Dropbox.
How do I delete a category?
MarketRock does not automatically delete previously imported categories. Manual deletion can be done in the Products section.
Can I connect multiple .csv files to MarketRock?
Yes, but ensure no duplicate SKUs exist across the different files.
What happens if I remove all products from the file to add only new ones?
The products removed from the .csv file will have their stock quantity set to 0 on MarketRock. This will deactivate any related listings or offers on marketplaces.
Why aren’t categories being imported from the file?
Check the following:
- Verify subscription to the categories in Synchronization Management or their parent categories. Alternatively, ensure subscription to the root category ALL PRODUCTS.
- Ensure the categories contain modified products (e.g., stock or price changes).
I imported products but don’t see VAT
Set the markup as the sum of VAT + markup:
- Go to Products > Synchronization Management.
- Select the price list.
- Click Edit, choose the category, and adjust markups in the Markup tab.
